Khmer Invest was created in order for people to have maximum access to the potential of the Cambodian market. While neighboring Thailand and Vietnam have gotten considerable attention Cambodia has languished in the background. This presents an opportunity for investors who are prepared to do the legwork to ensure they have a proper legal structure, as well as clear ownship rights to the investment of their choice.
The impetus for the creation of the site was my own personal experience in trying to locate potential investments in Cambodia via the internet. It was difficult to find things and much of what was found did not have a tremendous amount of available information.
My background is as founder and CEO of Omega Insurance Services. An American firm which employed over 300 people battling insurance fraud in the United States. After selling the firm and seeking new opportunties I fell in love with southeast Asia, in particular Cambodia. It has a much more authentic Asian feel, and is less polished than most of its neighbors,
For better or worse this is going to change. Cambodians are hungry for opportunity, and the country will grow and develop rapidly. For the curious I am eating my own cooking as they say, I have invested money in Cambodian opportunities myself, and thought the creation of a web site to assist others in doing so would benefit them, and frankly, myself.
